New Project: Call Center ~ Comedy to the Big Screen
A new, upcoming film group, The Collective 7, which consists of myself {JEH}, Rahim Branch, Christopher Bailey, Anton Deshawn, Candice M, Shiri Burson, and Brea Harris has formed over the last couple of months in Chicago. We consist of writers, directors, producers, camerawomen, editors, along with many other talents. We strive to capture stories: Comedies, dramas, action, experimental, documentary, etc that are told through and by people of color. There has been a dialogue recently about …the lack of diversity in the media world, especially stories told by people of color. The Collective 7 is here to change those thoughts, revolutionize these ideas and take responsibly through other collaborations in this journey of diverse films for a worldly demographic to fall in love with.
We are starting this journey with a comedy written/directed by one of the founders of the Collective 7, Anton Deshawn. This movie holds near and dear to our hearts, given that in the past year, we’ve lost two incredible souls in our film family, Marcus Martin and Henry Bailey, who would have been part of this project in some way. Take a look at the Call Center Indiegogo page and see the awesome perks that you will receive when donating a certain amount. We truly appreciate all of the love, support and positive energy that you give us. It’s not easy trying to build a movement, a legacy and we want you to come along for the ride. Please not only donate, but be sure to spread the word about this project as well as our upcoming projects. And do not hesitate to contact me with questions, comments and/or concerns about what we are doing, how you can join us, etc.
